When and how do I apply for student accommodation at Majstranden?
The application time for student accommodation is ongoing. When you submit your application, you are placed in our housing queue. Where you are in the queue depends on when you submit your application and when you need accommodation.

Who can apply for student accommodation?
Majstranden’s student accommodation should primarily help students who are studying full-time or guest students at universities in the metropolitan region.

What determines who gets student accommodation at Majstranden?
Decisions on allocation of the student accommodation are made based of the applicant’s need for accommodation, financial and social situation, membership and activities in owner associations as well as other society activities.

When do I find out if I have obtained student accommodation?
The student accommodation at Majstranden is popular, so how quickly you can obtain student accommodation depends on how many flats are free and when they will become free. If there are any changes in the housing queue, we will contact you at once with an offer of accommodation.

How are applicants, who do not yet have an admission place, processed?
Applications are accepted continuously. If you are a first year student, you can complete your application as soon as you know if you have secured an admission place, whereupon the accommodation’s occupancy level determines whether you can have a flat or if you are placed in our housing queue. If there are any changes in the housing queue, we will contact you at once with an offer of accommodation.

TV network
The TV network in Majstranden I is based on terrestrial transmissions. To watch TV channels, you need a digibox for terrestrial transmissions (DVB-T). The TV network in Majstranden II is DVB-C based (Cable).

Do I need to arrange my own electricity contract?
No, the property company buys in all electricity to the properties and invoices the tenants based on consumption.

What type of home insurance should I have?
A home insurance policy that, at the least, covers water damage.

What should I do if I lock myself out of my flat?
If you are locked out, the door can be opened by our caretaker service, weekdays 7 am – 3 pm, ring 020 7699 406. Other times (weekdays 3 pm – 7 am, public holidays and weekends), Lassila&Tikanoja Oy’s staff take care of this service, ring 010 636 5000. Invoiced according to established price list.
